About Briancon region

Climbing in Hautes Alpes is region situated between Grenoble, Gap, and the Italian border. In this region, you can climb from thousands of modern sports routes in Durance valley, Ailefroide or around city Briançon by the rivers and canyons or you can climb some alpine walls high up to +4000 peaks around the Ecrins national park.
The best summer climbing destination is exactly here because the walls are higher situated and having fresh air, there are many shady and also sunny crags which you can choose what you want. There is very stable weather in summer and you can climb all day. You can also climb on a different type of rock from limestone, granite, quartz, gneiss, and conglomerate which makes your climbing holidays even more fun to try a different style of climbing. Our climbing destination is concentrated more around Vallouise, Ailefroide, Mont Dauphin, Gap, and Sisteron.

 

Destination Les Vigneaux is the perfect place with the great fresh climate in summer and village is close to varied crags you will visit like granite valley of Ailefroide (20min), L'Argienterre la Besee (10 min), Mont-Dauphin (25min), the lake for swim La Roche de Rame (10min), and city Briançon (20min). Climbing summer holidays are provided in sport climbing areas.

 

For who: Climbing for young and adult with confident leading around 6a/b, for everyone who wants to climb a lot and push themselves to a higher level. Get more confidence and improve their climbing, for those who want to have fun and learn something new from best coaches.

Provisional program:

Day1: Getting to the camping Les Vaudois and settled there and start enjoying your climbing holidays. In camping is best that you bring yourself a tent and stove to cook whenever you like but usually we make dinner together and having more fun.

Day2: Climbing in the canyon. Having an easy start with lots of easy routes to warm up the body for a whole week. Discussing your goals for this week and the future.

Day3: Climbing near to the camping on a vertical wall to practice foot technique, balance and movement.

Day4: Climbing on vertical and overhang crag with pockets in Rue de Masque on conglomerate rock. Concentrating more on on-sight climbing technique and mental training – discuss how to approach for on sight, visualization, preparation, analyzation, learning where to clip, breathing, resting practice, reading the route, and learning understanding falling and falling technique.

Day5:  Not necessary to have a rest day with some running and yoga session, maybe some walk in nature or rent a bike and going to the mountain. Perhaps swimming in the lake and climbing in the afternoon some shady easy slab with no-hands technique climbing. It also depends on the group what their needs and do some shopping for three days to go. One of the rest day training is ONE HAND climbing technique with BANANA and climbing WITHOUT HANDS, toprope of course. These skills are great to learn how to be efficient and improve your climbing technique for harder routes, and also having FUN as well.

Day6: Climbing "A Muerte" harder routes, working progress on projects and mental training-visualization, breathing technique and posture and learning relaxing on the wall. Improving commitment and movement, learning to climb the challenging route.

Day7: Climbing easier crags, granite slabs wall for practicing foot technique. In Ailefroide.

Day8: Climbing harder routes in Mont-Dauphin or, La Roche del Brume, depends on the levels also. Working progress and whole learning put together and practicing. Enjoying climbing and having fun as much as possible.

Day9: End of your holidays with us and see you at the crag again.

 

What do you need to bring?

Harness, climbing shoes, helmet, chalk bag and chalk ☺, belay device, sun crème, tent and sleeping bag, sleeping matters (depends on type of accommodation), warm and light clothes, approach shoes, your own food, stove if you have (not necessary) and silver wear, headlamp, and great mood. You need also to have your own insurance, we recommend to do it before at home.

 

What price included: In the price included climbing coaching and instruction, safety equipment-ropes, quickdraws, and crashpads but feel free to bring your own.
